But in actuality, I only know what they put out there for me to read. It affects my life because I have been through or am going through similar feelings and thoughts so reading their stories lets me know that I’m not alone. The comments and feedback from people bring a different perspective to the things that I write about, so it helps me to process things in a different light.

What level of responsibility do you have in your job? Minimal…and I love it! I started out having a sh!tload of responsibilities and I felt like I was moments away from a nervous breakdown at times if something didn’t go right…I hated it. Now I have things to do, but I’m not so under stress or pressure from my colleagues to get them done. I know what needs to be done and when it needs to be done by. I appreciate not being micro-managed.

I’ve always had an issue with the fact that the name of the country’s capitol city was the same as the country itself. I don’t know what I would rename the city because I don’t know the culture or the history of the country to suggest another name…

What stresses you out? What calms you down? Other people’s problems and the need to feel accepted stress me out. Talking to my boy Decatur — he always puts things in perspective. Or getting a call from my sunshine Nichelle — hearing her say “Ah lo-lu” (translation: I love you) always make me happy.

What is your middle name? Would you change any of your names if you could? If so, what would you like to be called? Michelle is my middle name. When I was little, I didn’t like my first name…I asked everyone to call me by my middle name because I found out that my first name was originally supposed to be Michelle. That went on for a few years in elementary school. I’m cool with my name now.

If you were a fashion designer, which fabrics, colors, and styles would you probably use the most? Well, I’d probably use fabrics that moved with you. I’d design outfits that embodied comfort and style. You could easily work out and lounge in the clothes, but not actually looking like you’ve just been working out or lounging. As far as colors, I’d use a lot of cool colors - various shades of blues, greens, browns, purples, and of course some classic black.

What is your least favorite chore, and why? I’d have to say cleaning the bathroom. It’s the bathroom.

What is something that really frightens you, and can you trace it back to an event in your life? Something happening to my mother. It can’t be traced back to a particular event in my life, I think it’s just because it’s always been me and my mom, so if something happened to her, I don’t know what I would do.
